susan and esther's big adventure...

....is just about to get underway. for those of you who enjoy my meanderings, rest-assured, i will do my best to capture the essence of what we see on this amazing adventure. i have packed all the requisite camera gear and hope that i will be able to do justice to the picturesque destinations we are traveling to.

we leave tomorrow at about 1:00am (which technically makes it that we left on wednesday 2.10.10). flying from LAX to panama city; then a quick connection to buenos aires.

from there, we board a commuter plane to fly over iguazu falls in brazil. apparently, their majesty is best viewed from the brazilian side vs. the other two countries that the falls border. that being argentina and paraguay.

we will be at iguazu falls for a day or two; then back to buenos aires to board our cruise ship. the itinerary is as follows:

• 2.14.10--depart buenos aires
• 2.15-2.16--at sea
• 2.17.10--arrive port stanley, falkland islands (read=penguins!!)
• 2.18.10--at sea
• 2.19.10--elephant island, antarctica (read=oh my god i can't believe this is really happening)
• 2.20.10--paradise bay, antarctica (please see effusive blathering above)
• 2.21.10--at sea
• 2.22.10--ushuaia, argentina
• 2.23.10--cape horn, chile
• 2.24.10--at sea
• 2.25.10--puerto madryn, argentina (**also happens to be esther's birthday)
• 2.26.10--at sea
• 2.27.10--montevideo, uruguay
• 2.28.10--return to buenos aires
• 3.1.10--return to US and A

i guess that is all for now. still have to finish last minute stuff before blast off tomorrow.
